GRILLED TRI TIP ROAST





Ingredients:

  • 1 (3 lb) tri‑tip, trimmed

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • 1 Tbsp chili powder

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar

  • ½ tsp cumin

  • 1 Tbsp salt

  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil

  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce

  • Recommended wood: Hickory wood


Instructions:

  1. Make a paste by mixing all ingredients except the tri‑tip, then rub it thoroughly into the meat and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight for deep flavor absorption.

  2. Preheat your smoker to 275 °F.

  3. Place the tri‑tip inside and smoke for approximately 45 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 130 °F for rare or 135 °F for medium.

  4. Remove the meat and let it rest for 10 minutes, then slice thinly across the grain
