So ordered my PG500 straight from cookshack and it could not have been more informative and easy . The customer service is number one , they informed when the unit was shipped and fed ex called to set up a delivery time and the grill was in perfect condition . Now the PG500 is definitely the best and easiest grill I have ever used , my steaks have a great sear , my butts pull apart unlike any other smoker I have had before . It cost a little more but you call them and some answers the phone by the third ring and you are speaking to people who are building it here in the USA . We are very happy with this purchase !!!

Cookshack is Number 1! Quality, Quality and more Quality!!
I've owned the PG-500 Fast Eddy's by Cookshack Pellet Grill for over a year.
From the first day using the PG-500, I knew I'd never have to look at buying another Pellet Grill.
First off, the craftmanship and materials used are the best out there. It still looks new sitting on my patio and performs flawlessly!
This baby is packed with useful, top-notch features like -
* Commercial Quality.
* Easy cleaning, high quality Stainless Steel. My great, great, great, great grand kid will love it.
* Charbroil zone. Ability to grill anything up to 600+ degrees, effortless.
* Easy access doors. Dual doors help maintain internal smoke and heat.
* Easy ash clean-out drawer.
* 3 cooking zones - Charbroiler, smoker, and cold smoking drawer.
* Quality, heavy duty locking caster wheels.
* Large, easily accessible Pellet bin.
* Set and forget controls. Set the temperature and the unit will maintain within a few degrees.
* Or - custom settings if you prefer. You control the amount of smoke.
* Nice side shelf (I also bought the optional front shelf).
* Quality, optional (perfectly fitting) all weather cover.
* Long electrical cord.
* Performs well in most weather conditions. (It is not insulated for very cold conditions; however, it still works well during Minnesota winters).
In addition -
* Nice friendly people at Cookshack are a pleasure to work with.
* Great shipping. Delivered on time, in great condition.
Years ago, (20+) I purchased the Cookshack Smoke 050 electric smoker. This sold me on the Cookshack brand. I am still using this unit and turning out perfect smoked foods. NOTE: Cookshack still carries spare parts for this unit.
For the best flavor, do yourself a favor. Buy the PG-500. You and your guests will be happy you did!

I have waited 3 years to review this grill. I really can not express in words how happy I am with this unit. Never actually owning a pellet grill before, I did very extensive research on multiple grills at this price point and finally decided that the “Fast Eddie” was the one for me. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of of other units at this price point but the quality far surpasses the other brands that I researched. The final “nail in the coffin” for the other brands was that none of them had direct fire sear. This was a huge issue for me and, in the end, made my decision much easier. In 3 years I have had no issues with this grill. It’s real Stainless and everything about it is quality. Make sure you’ve been to the gem if you need to move it without being able to role it.

Bought the Cookshack Fast Eddy PG-500 from a local dealer in the Memphis area In January 2023. I had gone to his shop to look at the Yoder Competition Grill set up but told him I was concerned with a grill that comes with PAINT. Thats when he showed me the PG-500!! Never knew this grill even existed, Sure glad he pointed out all the features!! ALL stainless steel, super simple settings, bake, smokes, grills (over flaming fire), holding pan to keep food warm (what other set-up has this feature?? :)), simple ash drawer, easy peasy grease management system, pellets are dropped 6-8" above into the fire box so not much chance of an auger fire :), I did not expect this PG-500 to produce much smoke but I was WRONG....At low temps this PG-500 looks like an old steam locomotive churning out billowing smoke.
I use Royal Oak Charcoal Pellets (No moisture issues jamming the auger if this is a concern), B&B Championship Blend and Lumberjack Competition Blend. (These are just my personal favorites).
All in all the PG-500 does everything a pellet grill should do but does it better!!! Since Oct. 2022 I had been doing research on what type of pellet grill to purchase. #1 it had to be American Made. #2 it had to be Stainless Steel (as mine is kept outdoors in a high humidity zone), #3 It had to have a grease management system that actually slanted the grease away (seriously this must have been a key decision from Cookshack because I have never seen a slope for grease this crazy on a pellet grill), #4 Easy to clean.
Things that could be improved on:
1. The pellet hopper dump is located on the front. When placing a 5gl bucket under it to change pellets a lot of pellets miss the bucket and land on the ground making a mess. My past pellets grills didn't have this issue.
2. Each time I have fired up the PG-500 I have had to turn it off after a few minutes because the flame rod did not ignite. Upon my 2nd attempt to start pellets the flame rod ignites and we are up and running. Not sure why a pellet grill has to be turned on then off then on again to start up. Is this operator error or a design flaw?
3. The side tray is very sturdy and comes with 3 hooks for you to hang any grill accessories you may have. In my opinion the hooks are way too wide and don't accommodate my tools with smaller openings

In 2013 my son-in-law introduced me to pellet grills. I fell in love with the concept and began a long journey of research. I finally settled on the PG-500 because it is made in the USA, it is constructed of stainless steel, and has what I believe to be unsurpassed flexibility.
I have cold smoked salmon (the salmon never exceeds 65 degrees F) and followed that up with tri-trips seared at 550 degrees F on the direct heat, and then finished at 350 degrees on the indirect side.
Besides the usual smoked meats, I have also baked seafood paella, beef Wellington, and have grilled hundreds of oysters.
A few years ago I was driving through Ponca City and the folks were gracious and gave me a tour of the manufacturing facility. I was impressed and bought a PG-500 for a dear friend of mine.
I can’t say enough good things about my “toy”. I love it!!!
