I purchased my SM025 in 2011 and had to replace the controller this year (2024). The temperature displays on the old controller had completely disappeared. I feared that I had a repair job on my hands that I wouldn't be able to handle. But after a re-assuring email from a Cookshack technician, I ordered this replacement. I had such a quick and easy install of the new controller (even with my "older" model) that I'm sorry I waited so long to fix the problem.

Have had my SM025 for about 8 years, and had to replace the controller this year. It took me more time to remove and replace the slightly shrunken smoker cover than to swap out the controller.
I smoked a pork butt today, and the controller functioned flawlessly. Will find out about the pork in about a half hour....
