Moonshiners Chocolate Cake with Smoked Chocolate Ganache Frosting

Ingredients

Chocolate Cake Mix

1 c. Coffee

1 c. Mild

½ c. Vegetable Oil

3 eggs

2 tsp. Whiskey

 

Frosting:

2 lb. Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

1 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream


Instructions

CAKE:

Mix all ingredients with dry cake mix and smoke at 325 degrees  for 40 minutes in 2 round 9” cake pans on the indirect side of the PG1000.

FROSTING:

Mix the whipping cream with the chocolate chips in an aluminum foil pan and heat in the warming drawer at 180 degrees for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add ¾ c. bourbon to mixture and stir. Spread over cakes and stack, spreading evenly over the whole cake and sides. Serve.
